Our Mission
Prairie Gold Foundation helps local farms fight hunger and build lasting resilience—by getting real food into the hands of families who need it most.
How it works
We purchase high-quality food—like organic eggs, pasture-raised meats, and fresh vegetables—directly from local farms.
That food is delivered through trusted hunger-relief partners to families who need it most.
At the same time, we invest in those farms through practical conservation grants to help them establish, maintain, and improve grasslands. This helps the farms develop deep resilience into their land so they can continue growing stronger as our hunger relief partners.
Why it matters
Every dollar does three things:
Feeds a family with real, nutritious food
Supports a local farm with a reliable market
Strengthens the land so it can keep producing
Feeding the People By Restoring the Prairie
Step One
Support small to mid-sized ecologically-minded farms by purchasing high quality foods at prices that allow the farmers to support their families, farms, and conservation work.
Step Two
Distribute the foods to established hunger-relief organizations with reliable and efficient distribution capacity in order to reach the people who need the food the most.
Step Three
Provide continued support for the farms through a grant program to help establish, restore, and maintain grasslands on the properties they steward in an effort to instill long-term agricultural resilience.
Let’s work together to build a more resilient Wisconsin.
